Copyediting

Simply put, a copyedit is the editing of any "copy" or written word. Dependent on the level of input the author desires, a copyedit can be as simple as ensuring correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, syntax, and usage or can include additional input such as correction of awkward or wordy passages, fact-checking, and notes on organization and logical progression.

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing includes comprehensive feedback on narrative elements including the following: character development, story progression, scene creation, dialogue flow, audience analysis, and thematic emphasis. This service is useful when completing the first draft of a novel or short story, but can also be applied to academic writing with feedback regarding elements such as strength of thesis, argument creation, etc.

Proofreading

Are you nervous sending off a proposal to your boss? Do you need reassurance that you didn't miss a comma or forget a salutation on your email? Proofreading can help with that!

Unlike copyediting, this service focuses less on the content of your writing (word usage, phrasing, organization, etc.) and more on the accuracy of your form. Proofreading ensures your writing utilizes accurate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.

Business Editing

Do you need help crafting an email form for customer complaints? Does creating a new policy handbook seem daunting? Are you having trouble creating engaging visuals for a staff training? If so, business editing is the service for you. I have years of experience in document and presentation creation that I can utilize to help meet any of your business needs.
